Fetish electro pop from Risqué

Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down, is French/Welsh duo Risqué’s debut album featuring Billie Ray Martin and New York City’s legendary transsexual sexbomb, Amanda Lepore, amongst others. (You might remember Risqué’s performance in the European themed room at from the 2007 Skin Two Rubber Ball )

Their unique sound is electro pop reminiscent of Kraftwerk, with perhaps a shade of Pet Shop Boys – but in an overtly sexual kind of way. You might like the robotic French vixen suggesting all manner of lewd behaviour or you might like the upbeat male vocals featuring in The Shaman-esque style of Mr.C

After listening to the whole album twice, I put it on again, and it still had me bopping in my headset, something that always signals a good album to me. I loved their rendition of Talking Heads’ Psycho Killer, one of my all time favorite songs. Listen up for their unique take on the Velvet Underground’s SM anthem Venus In Furs.

You can pre-order it here and deshabille-toi – I know you want to.
