Skin Two Attend The 2013 German Fetish Ball

Ahh what a weekend! This year’s German Fetish Ball proved to be even more wild, sexy and fabulous than we had anticipated.

With exhibitors from across the glove descending on the German city to exhibit some of their finest latex, PVC and leather clothing there was plenty of inspirational outfits and collections on display.

The streets were a fantastic blend of colour and shiny fabrics as people partied hard in some of Europe’s finest bars and clubs. Here’s a selection of pictures from the event to give you a teasing insight into what was occurring throughout the weekend…

 

 

We were honoured to be asked to be on the judging panel for the awards ceremony on Sunday night where the delightful Am Statik was chosen as winner of the best fetish fashion design category. The GFB awards night is always a classic in the event’s calendar and this year’s one didn’t disappoint.

The event was certainly one to remember and one that Skin Two were nothing but delighted to attend.

With so many familiar faces all in one place, incredible costumes and outfits, and amazing venues the German Fetish Ball continues to be one of the most prosperous fetish events across the whole of Europe. I wonder what next year’s will have in store…

Since winning the Turner Prize in 2003, and his recent triumphant exhibition at the centre of the UK art establishment, The British Museum, Grayson Perry seems doomed to become “a national treasure”. “They’re preparing the embroidered slippers,” he remarks. The first trade publication of this frenetic graphic novel, originally issued as a private publication in 1992, may well cause some recoil among his more unquestioning enthusiasts. Perry has never been afraid to confront his inner drives, and when this book first appeared, he wrote:

“When I was 12 or 13 I drew a series of short comic strip adventures featuring an idealized male hero. When puberty hit me, these boys’ own tales became increasingly kinky, involving much cross-dressing and bondage. Sadly, these reports from my young subconscious were lost in the upheavals of adolescence. Twenty years later I drew Cycle of Violence while facing up to becoming a father myself and once again my imagination became an open wound.”
