Boston Fetish Fair Fleamarket

January 5, 2010 by webslave · Leave a Comment

The New England Leather Association’s Fetish Fair Fleamarket began in Boston in 1992 and it’s been held twice yearly since then. The founder of the event, Cecilia Tan, has now joined forces with other activists, including Danny of Leather by Danny, to bring the FFF to other parts of the USA, including Atlanta and Charlotte. The event is low-cost and brings together kink-curious newcomers, old hands and vendors.

Fetish Fair Fleamarket 001

The larger of the two Boston events is in Winter. Several thousand leather loving, paddle happy kinkos make their way to the mecca of SM merchandising in the Boston area.

Cecilia Tan, author, editor, baseball addict and friend of fetishists, has been the feminine principle of the Fleas these many years. And it has not been an easy job.  At one time the grand dame of Boston hotels, the Boston Park Plaza Hotel played host to mustachioed men in leather lederhosen and women with large breasts on display with only strips of black electrical tape crisscrossed on their nipples.

Fetish Fair Fleamarket 003

Fetish Fair Fleamarket 002Along with many booths selling wares such as handmade canes for caning, carefully constructed and constricting corsets, and BDSM publications aplenty, there were educational classes and fundraisers for folks who had been convicted of enjoying an alternate lifestyle. And people had fun being exhibitonists in fancy surroundings.

But some nagging and complaining Boston bluebloods made it impossible for the Park Plaza to host the Fleas forever. This Winter’s FFF will take place on February 12-14 at the Westin in Providence, Rhode Island.

Dallas Fetish Ball – Tenth Anniversary

December 23, 2009 by webslave · Leave a Comment

Dallas-Fetish-Ball_Photo-by-William-Lamoreaux-(2)It was time to polish your nipple clamps and crack your bullwhips as the 2009 Dallas Fetish Ball descended upon Dallas, Texas. Held in the Lizard Lounge, this year’s event included a latex fashion show from Torture Garden UK, featuring international models. The model walk included British fetish queens Viktoria Modesta and Roxy Velvet, along with Dallas favorites Angela Ryan, Athena Fatale and adult film star Anna Mills. The 10th anniversary event also included a performance from perennial favorite, Rubberdoll vs. FAQ.

Patrons took their chance and spun the Amazing Wheel of Pain – you never know what you might win. The Wheel was in the capable hands of Dallas’s most demanding dominatrices. Interactive attractions included an electrical play station, lube station, photo booth and dungeon.

International Ms Leather 2009

June 18, 2009 by webslave · Leave a Comment

The International Ms Leather 2009 event (IMsL) this year was not just good (and sexy!) fun, but I think it really succeeded at one of its most important goals: reconnecting friends and leading to the planning, brainstorming, and day-dreaming that will move forward the leather and BDSM communities for at least the next year.
